When? Reflections on Dr. Martin Luther King’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail

Dr King’s 1963 Letter from a Birmingham Jail invites us into conversation today, as we continue to wrestle with the same challenges.  We hope you will join us for this anti-racism service, including a sermon by Paisha Thomas and anti-racism and MLK-themed music by both First UU choirs.

“Practicing Resistance” is our monthly theme for January, focusing on spiritual and active defiance against oppression, apathy, and despair.  This will touch on social justice work as well as self-care, joy, and speaking truth; rooted in UU principles of inherent worth and dignity, often seen as “good trouble”.  We hope to encourage individuals to find their unique, sustainable ways to resist injustice and build resilience.

Our Share-the-Plate donations in January go to the Bottoms Up Diaper Bank
