Speaker: Rev. Dr. Terasa Cooley

Broken Down or Broken Open

How do we live in a world where so much feels broken and pulled apart?  Is there a way of leaning into the brokenness that helps us learn something new about ourselves and what is being asked of us?

This I Believe

UUism is not a creedal religion, but we still often get asked “what do UUs believe about…?” How can we talk about belief in a way that honors the variety of viewpoints among us?

What is Humanism?

One of the core lenses through which Unitarian Universalists see the world is the theoology of humanism.  What might humanism mean today?

Good and Evil

One of the questions I received during my “Question Box” service was “what is evil?”  I didn’t address it then because it’s a big question!  But I want to explore it now in the context of bad things happening in the world.  What is evil and what can we do about it?

Where Do We Come From? (History Service)

The Archives Team has worked hard to collect and put together the history of our congregation.  Rev. Terasa and the Archives team will share the highlights in this service.  Congregants can enjoy articles, pictures and more documenting our journey of 85 years on panels on display in the Gallery and Worship Center until August 26.

Animal Blessing

We celebrate all the animals in our life, all those who have or are currently bringing joy to our lives. Bring your animal or a photo. We will also honor those pets that are no longer with us, so please bring photos to place on our altar.

Learning to be Human

All of us, young and old and in between, are learning what it means to be human. Guided by the work of Fred Rogers, we explore ways that we all, at SYC and at First UU, are learning to be human.
