Speaker: Rev. Dr. Terasa Cooley

In Sickness and in Health

We all live somewhere in the spectrum between health and illness, yet we often treat them as though they are complete states: either / or. Can we find renewal no matter where we are on the spectrum? The worship theme for January is “Liberating Love”.

The Presence of the Present

Amidst the frenzied activity of the season, and the constant bombardment of dire news from outside, it can be hard to find any sense of the peace of the season. What are the spiritual tools we can use to be present to the gifts already with us? The worship theme for December is “Mystery”.

This is My Song

“This is My Song” The terrible events in Israel and Palestine have been much in our minds and hearts. Rev. Terasa will share some of her experiences in visiting there 3 years ago, and thoughts about what religion has to do with it. The worship theme for December is “Mystery”.

Next Steps. . .

Next Steps on the Journey: Our congregation is embarking on whats called “Developmental Ministry” which is Rev. Terasa’s role but also the congregations.  Rev. Terasa & Rev. Sunshine Wolfe will share their hopes for this process and invite you into this shared ministry. The worship theme for November is “Generosity”.

Covenant and Community

The worship theme for November is “Generosity”. We talk about being a ‘covenantal faith,’ but it’s not always clear what we mean by that. What is a covenant and how can we live into it?

A Personal Reckoning

We’ll be talking a lot about what it means for the congregation to actively be an anti-racist church.  I will talk about where my journey toward anti-racism has taken me. The worship theme for October is “Heritage”.

Collaborative Leadership

Is leadership a noun or a verb?  We think of certain people as ‘natural’ leaders, but that concept can get in the way of giving everyone a chance to provide leadership in certain situations. The worship theme for October is “Heritage”.
