Speaker: Rev. Dr. Terasa Cooley

The Presence of the Present

Amidst the frenzied activity of the season, and the constant bombardment of dire news from outside, it can be hard to find any sense of the peace of the season. What are the spiritual tools we can use to be present to the gifts already with us? The worship theme for December is “Mystery”.

This is My Song

“This is My Song” The terrible events in Israel and Palestine have been much in our minds and hearts. Rev. Terasa will share some of her experiences in visiting there 3 years ago, and thoughts about what religion has to do with it. The worship theme for December is “Mystery”.

Next Steps. . .

Next Steps on the Journey: Our congregation is embarking on whats called “Developmental Ministry” which is Rev. Terasa’s role but also the congregations.  Rev. Terasa & Rev. Sunshine Wolfe will share their hopes for this process and invite you into this shared ministry. The worship theme for November is “Generosity”.

Covenant and Community

The worship theme for November is “Generosity”. We talk about being a ‘covenantal faith,’ but it’s not always clear what we mean by that. What is a covenant and how can we live into it?

A Personal Reckoning

We’ll be talking a lot about what it means for the congregation to actively be an anti-racist church.  I will talk about where my journey toward anti-racism has taken me. The worship theme for October is “Heritage”.

Collaborative Leadership

The Blessings of Conflict

Conflict is often thought of as something to avoid or that will cause rupture, but what if we thought about it in terms of what it has to teach us, about ourselves and about others? The worship theme for October is “Heritage”.

Religious Language and its Challenges

You may have noticed that I have been using more traditional religious language in the services I’ve led. I’m aware that this is challenging to some, and I’ll talk about why it’s meaningful to me, and how we can hold space for other practices as well. The worship theme for September is “Welcome”.

Is True Forgiveness Possible?

The worship theme for September is “Welcome”. True forgiveness is challenging. It is not about letting people get away with being hurtful. It cannot be given on demand. So what makes true forgiveness possible?
