At SYC we are thrilled to share some exciting news, after more than three years of dreaming, planning, and preparation, construction will soon begin on our playgrounds! (starting In about 2 weeks) This project has been a long time in the making, and while there will be a few temporary disruptions, we know the benefits will far outweigh them.

Construction is expected to take about seven weeks. While we remain optimistic, we are also realistic about the process. During this time, we’ll be creative in making sure children continue to have opportunities for large motor play, sensory experiences, and outdoor time even if that sometimes means shorter bursts of time outdoors or adjusting how we use our spaces.

Some of the exciting highlights our children will get to enjoy once construction is complete include:

• Brand new fencing/entry way/security
• Climbing and sledding hills
• Extended sandboxes
• A treehouse platform
• Water features
• A tunnel in the 2s play area

We will share occasional updates along the way and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone once the new playground spaces are ready. Thanks to all for your flexibility and support as we make this long-held vision a reality for our community.
