In the seminal poem, “Calling” Rev. Nancy Shaffer writes about the moments of clarity that forever change us, and the subtle but significant work of learning to listen and being willing to respond. Preaching for the first time since her ordination, Rev. Meg McGuire reflects on and reframes the notion of calling and what it can look like in community.
Rev. Meg McGurie (she/her) grew up at First UU and was jointly ordained by this congregation and the First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco on April 16th. Meg and her wife Paige recently returned to Columbus, where Meg is serving as a Chaplain Resident at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
To celebrate Rev. Meg’s recent ordination, there will be a reception following the service with cake and punch!
