UUA News – April 2024

At UU the Vote, we hold dear the commitment to leave our relationships and communities enriched and fortified. Building upon the proud tradition of civic engagement within Unitarian Universalist circles, UU the Vote has galvanized this spirit into cohesive and values-driven nonpartisan year-round work. Through nurturing our skills, fostering leadership, and cherishing our connections, we lay the groundwork for robust local, regional, and national organizing efforts.

In facing the challenges ahead, we draw sustenance from shared values such as joy, appreciation, humility, and precision. Recognizing the strength in solidarity, we forge alliances not only amongst ourselves but also with allied groups within our communities.

UU the Vote endeavors to cultivate collective power and strengthen grassroots partnerships to grow democratic principles and institutions. This year, our focus extends to pivotal states like Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Georgia, where our values and communities face unprecedented threats.

We hope you’ll encourage your members to join our first national phonebank of the year, calling voters in Georgia next Sunday, May 5th at 5pm ET/2pm PT.

Call Georgia Voters
Our strategy involves engaging in thousands of values-driven conversations with voters, knocking on doors, and collaborating closely with local organizations to effect positive change. Beyond merely recognizing what’s at stake, the upcoming national election represents an opportunity to realize a unified national movement, dedicated to the pursuit of justice, accountability, and equity.

To achieve this vision, we implore your congregation to join our collective effort. Together, we can turn possibility into reality, shaping a future defined by collaboration, resilience, and progress.
