Christmas Eve Services Canceled Due to Weather
Well, this is not how we had hoped to be speaking with you all today! As you may know, the city of Columbus is under a Level 2 Snow Emergency, which means, unfortunately, that the church is closed.
Hundreds of supplies have been stuffed for our Family service, and candles and displays have been rescued from the basement for our beautiful Candlelight service. We want to say thank you to all of the volunteers who put so much time and energy into preparing for two beautiful services this evening. Good news, we have an amazing head start on next year’s services! (And don’t worry, if you want a service to watch this evening, our Family Service from last year is linked below!)
Because we won’t be gathering, we also won’t be collecting plate offerings for our Minister’s Discretionary Fund which we do each year on Christmas Eve. If you are able, please consider donating to this fund, so that we can make sure that we have enough to support our community through year. You can donate on our website, and please be sure to put Minister’s Discretionary Fund in the memo. Thank you!
We wanted to send you a blessing and an opportunity to pause and sit in a moment of stillness. You may hear the wind howling outside, or your children running around, or perhaps a dog barking. You may be feeling overwhelmed by the long to-do list that is still in front of you, or how the weather is changing all of your plans. For just a moment, I invite you to join me in a deep breath and a pause.
May your days be filled with music, light, peace and strength my friends.
Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays
