Unitarian Universalism is an evolving, thriving, living tradition shaped by the Unitarian Universalists in UUA member congregations, UU groups and communities. Our annual General Assembly (GA) is the primary way we come together as a single body to deliberate, discern and take democratic action to move the UU faith forward. This year, GA will offer several pivotal opportunities to take part in thoughtful discernment and dialogue about the future of our faith, in addition to many chances for connection, worship and faith development in community with thousands of fellow UUs.

| After two years of study and feedback from thousands of UUs, the Article II Study Commission submitted a proposal with new language for that section of the UUA bylaws that describes Unitarian Universalist values, covenant and purpose. Watch them give voice to the proposal in this brief video. |

| At General Assembly this June, Unitarian Universalists will decide on amendments to the language of the new Article II proposal and delegates will vote on whether to move the language forward for further discernment in the coming year. | Delegates represent the aspirations and positions of Unitarian Universalist congregations in business votes at GA. They play a key role in our democratic process and this year, delegates will vote on new Article II language, elect a new UUA President and make other important decisions on behalf of congregations. It’s up to congregations to determine the best way to select and inform their delegates ahead of GA. | The election of a new UUA President begins in June and will close during GA. This spring, there will be opportunities to get to know the candidate for UUA President, the Rev. Dr. SofĂa Betancourt, through presidential forums being held in-person in congregations in Virginia, Illinois, Texas and California. All forums will be streamed online for virtual participation as well. Learn more about the upcoming forums and get other important election updates. |

| Not only do we move the faith forward through business decisions made in a collective democratic process, but we do so through faith formation and worship when we gather as a community. GA 2023 will offer many wonderful opportunities for these kinds of gatherings, including the historic Ware Lecture, to be given this year by Imani Perry, scholar of law, literary and cultural studies, the Service of the Living Tradition, led by the Rev. Chris Buice and Sunday Worship, led by the Rev. Manish Mishra-Marzetti. |
