Unknown. While this is its first year of operation, and the first year the committee has supported Equality Ohio, there is broad support in the congregation for this valuable community resource.
Purpose
An organization dedicated to protecting civil rights for the GLBT population in Ohio through education, advocacy, and action.
Scope
As a statewide organization, Equality Ohio proactively works with the GLBT community and officeholders on the local, county, and state levels to ensure the promotion and protection of basic civil rights.
Justification for First UU Support
In addition to congruency with UU principles, the quality of life in the GLBT community is clearly reflected in the body of the congregation at First UU.
