# of UU’s involved
Twelve. Members are managing a website, presenting information briefings to area and national church and other organizational entities. A national network of over 100 UU congregations receive CIRCA mailings and many have their own Corporate Personhood programs. If interested in joining the network, contact Co-Chair.

Purpose
Working to eliminate the power of corporations to control our elections, our environment, our education, etc. Linked to national organizations, all seeking the same eventual goal: a nation in which corporations are subservient to the wishes and values of "We the People" and no longer have the constitutional rights that we enjoy.

Scope

We meet monthly and make presentations on the topic to groups (civic, church, social) around the country and support local initiatives to further democracy and democratic principles. CIRCA has hosted several nationally known speakers in the Columbus area: Ward Morehouse, Ted Nace and David Korten, and a national conference in Columbus, Ohio in March 2007 attended by 120+ activists from 26 states and 2 Canadian provinces.

Justification for First UU Support
The purpose of CIRCA is wholly in line with the principles of the UUA and within the mission of the First UU Social Justice Committee. A number of First UU members are actively involved in supporting the evolution of CIRCA and its activities.
