Citizens Intent on Reforming Corporate Accountability (CIRCA)

First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus, Ohio has created CIRCA as a program committee to study the problem of corporate control and to advocate for greater democracy.

To accomplish these ends, we will do the following:

  • familiarize ourselves with the issues of Corporate Personhood (CP)
  • share information regarding actions on the local, state, and national level -- and what actions have worked or not worked
  • encourage other grassroots organizations to support resolutions, bills, and petitions to eliminate CP
  • exchange information on resources such as books, Web sites, and articles that provide information on ending corporate control
  • other activities to hold corporations accountable to the public welfare

Some of the things we have done or are doing include:

  • making presentations about Corporate Personhood (CP) to other organizations. Contact us if you would like for us to present to your group.
  • maintaining this Web site as a source of information on CP
  • providing tips on what you can do to help eliminate CP
  • working with other organizations that have a similar mission
  • holding public forums or assemblies to present information on CP and corporate control
  • developing white papers on how the issue of CP affects other issues like campaign finance, the environment, and the labor movement
  • meeting monthly to discuss ongoing plans and current issues. Go to our Welcome page for info on upcoming meetings.

More about our previous and ongoing actions.    Minutes of recent CIRCA meetings.
